In this release of a live telecast that originally aired on January 30, 1956, host Charles Laughton and conductor Max Rudolph lead the world's most talented musicians as they perform a variety of opera and classical favorites. Performances featured in this release include Isaac Stern performing Mendelssohn's "Violin Concerto, 3rd Movement", Renata Tebaldi and Jussi Bjoerling performing "Act I Finale" of Puccini's La Bohème, Risë Stevens performing "Card Song" from Bizet's Carmen, and many more.
