Synopsis by Tom Ciampoli
A documentary from director-producer Richard Sanders tells the inside story of the courtship and marriage of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. The film details Elizabeth's struggle to rectify her love for Philip with her family's distate for him, due to his German heritage and an upbringing which they deemed less than suitable. Prince Philip: The Plot to Make a King also includes an interview with Philip's nephew, Prince Rainier van Hessen, who shares additional information about his uncle and shares details from the memoirs of his mother, Philip's sister.
