Synopsis by Mark Deming
Argentinean filmmaker Pablo Aguero wrote and directed this short subject, based in part on an incident from his childhood. A mother and her son are trapped in a tumbledown shack during a cold, wet night as a furious storm rages outside. While the woman struggles to keep herself and her child warm and dry, certain the weather could very well claim their lives, the boy is startled by the image of his attractive mother without her clothes, and finds himself attracted to her in a way he doesn't entirely understand. Primera Nieve was honored with the Jury Prize for best short film at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival.
