Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

In an era when the greed of hospitals, insurance companies, and other healthcare specialists threatens to betray humanity's greatest gift, first-time filmmaker Steve Buonauguiro uses his video camera to expose the dark underside of the U.S. childbirth industry. To hospitals, childbirth means big money. But in their desperate race to make a profit, are doctors really putting the interests of infants and their mothers first? Now, with a little help from producers Betsy Chasse and Straw Weisman, Buonauguiro documents his own wife's experiences before, during, and after childbirth in hopes of illuminating the neglectful exploitation of pregnancy and birth that countless couples must contend with during one of the most crucial phases of their own lives, and the lives of their unborn children.
