Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein

Produced by and starring Bud Osborne, this obscure silent western told the story of Jim Holmes, a rancher who adopts a couple of young survivors of an Indian massacre. Years later, he falls in love with his adopted daughter (Pauline Curley), but she loves her foster brother (Ben Hall). Holmes selflessly agrees to the match. He then leads a vigilante group against a gang of masked cattle rustlers. Their efforts succeed, and Holmes is able to bring the leader of the rustlers -- a local society woman -- to justice. Leading his group of vigilantes, Holmes discovers that the master villain behind the rustlers is a well known society woman. Having ended the woman's reign of terror, Holmes gives his blessings to the marriage between his adopted children. Apparently the only film produced by the Bud Osborne Feature Films company, The Prairie Mystery also featured Pearl May Norton, Harry Gerald, Norma Willis, Hazel Evans, Monte Collins, and Nora Curley. A stunt-rider and western villain, Osborne was a familiar face in B-movies and later television.
