Synopsis by Sarah Block
The New York-based Power Pilates company introduces a series of programs based on the Pilates method of "core conditioning" - the strengthening of the abdominals, back, and buttocks. Company founder Dr. Howard Sichel, a chiropractor who recognized the importance of this core strength in overall health and fitness, created easy-to-follow workouts for varying fitness levels. This program features a beginner's workout for those new to Pilates. Instructors show viewers how performing the exercises for as little as 15 minutes a day can improve overall health and well-being. The program includes demonstrations of the ideal way to perform the moves, as well as tips for modifying them according to special fitness needs.
