Synopsis by Brian J. Dillard

This comprehensive music video collection, which assembles 41 promo clips from the British synth pop duo the Pet Shop Boys, was released in conjunction with a two-disc greatest-hits collection of the same name. Spanning the years 1985 to 2002, PopArt includes 37 original videos, plus alternate versions of four videos. It does not include clips for "Miracles" and "Flamboyant," two new songs recorded especially for the album. Notable clips -- all with digitally remastered audio and video -- include "West End Girls," "Always on My Mind," "Go West," "What Have I Done to Deserve This?" and "New York City Boy." The DVD also includes a commentary track of journalist Chris Heath in conversation with bandmembers Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe. In addition to several previous concert movies and video collections, the Pet Shop Boys starred in the 1988 feature It Couldn't Happen Here.
