Synopsis by Alice Day
In this instructional program, Barbara Fewster, who has been Ballet Principal of the Royal Ballet School, provides guidance in basic pointe technique, beginning with very basic information. Pointe By Pointe shows students the three types of feet, and demonstrates how to prepare the ballet shoe. She discusses fundamentals, while pointing out that avoiding bad habits early will help prevent injury later on. Her methodical style is designed to work on muscle strength and a good foundation as the student progresses to more advanced work.
