Synopsis by Leslie Birdwell

Placido Domingo's roots in music run deep. Both parents were Spanish light-opera performers and Domingo, born in Madrid and reared in Mexico, began performing at age 7. Shifting from baritone to tenor after some post-audition advise, he has become one of the most popular opera artists in the world. This biographical video shows the tenor at home with family and even has a short scene of his parents performing. He also sings plenty, both in live performance footage and casually, hanging around at the piano. The other two-thirds of the Three Tenors (Jose Carreras and Luciano Pavarotti) make appearances, as do Teresa Stratas and the late John Denver, with whom he made an album of love songs in the early 80's.
