In chapter four of the Universal serial Pirate Treasure, adventurer Dick Moreland (Richard Talmadge) manages to avoid colliding with the truck that blocks the narrow bridge by swerving over the rail, motorcycle and all, and landing on a freight train on the tracks below. After battling the villains atop the freight cars, Dick is knocked off the train but lands safe and sound in Dorothy's (Lucille Lund) car. The pair proceeds to the harbor, where they head for the Lottie Carson in a speedboat. But the villains take up the chase and a collision seems unavoidable.
