Director Edward H. Sloman had only himself to blame for this melodramatic misfire: he also wrote the script. A now forgotten actress, Rubye de Remer, starred as Christine, a Parisian demi-monde involved with a gang of criminals headed by Marcel (Frank Leigh), who she mistakenly believes to be her father, and Philip Champion (Lewis Stone), the exiled son of a British nobleman. Escaping arrest, Christine swears to kill Champion, who she blames for betraying the gang to the police. She learns that Champion is now residing in England and has become Lord Ellingham. With amateur criminologist Gilbert Hannaway (Walter McGrail) in tow, Christine goes to confront Lord Ellingham, who proves to be her real father. A former Ziegfeld Follies dancer, Rubye de Remer usually found herself trapped in cheap films like Pilgrims of the Night. She wisely left the screen in 1923 to marry a millionaire.
