Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Petticoat Junction switches from black and white to color for the inaugural of its third season. In addition, there has been a couple of cast changes: Replacing Jeannine Riley and Pat Woodell in the respective roles of Billie Jo and Betty Jo are Gunilla Hutton (who would last but one season) and Lori Saunders (who remained with the series until its final episode). The opening episode finds Kate Bradley (Bea Benadaret), owner of the Shady Rest Hotel, supplementing her income by writing a newspaper advice column, which she signs as "Aunt Minerva." Her anonymity is placed in jeopardy when her daughters accidentally circulate a rumor that storekeeper Sam Drucker (Frank Cady)--whom Kate had replaced as "Aunt Minerva"--has proposed marriage to Kate!
