Synopsis by Mark Deming

Since emerging from the respected progressive rock band Genesis in 1977 to launch a solo career, Peter Gabriel has earned a reputation as one of the most intelligent and uncompromising minds in pop music, and his acclaimed music videos have proven he's as creative as a visual stylist as he is in the recording studio. Peter Gabriel: Play is a home-video collection which brings together 23 music videos which chronicle Gabriel's work from his first solo set to his 2002 album Up. Selections include "Sledgehammer," "Red Rain," "In Your Eyes," "Big Time," "Biko," "Don't Give Up," "Solsbury Hill," "The Barry Williams Show," and many more.
