Synopsis by Mark Deming

A long journey is only the first step on a voyage that will change one man's life forever in this offbeat drama from writer and director Rodrigo Bellott. Gus (Gonzalo Valenzuela) arrives at a small hotel in New York state after a long drive through remote, snow-covered countryside. Gus rents a room and begins a long wait as he begins the first stages of a physical and psychological transformation. Finally, at four in the morning, Gus gets a call on the telephone, and the evening takes a turn that will lead him down a path in life he's never experienced before. Brought to the screen by production houses in Bolivia, Chile and the United States, Perfidy was Bellott's third feature film, and received its American debut at the 2009 Miami International Film Festival.
