Synopsis by Janiss Garza

The spirited Dorothy Gish is a stenographer to a reformer in this unusual comedy. She decides that the best way to investigate the conditions at a girls' reformatory is from within. Throwing a brick through a jeweler's window hastens her entree, and she diligently goes about her investigation. Complications arise, however, when she falls in love with the reformatory's doctor (Richard Barthelmess). All ends well when it is discovered that she is not really the criminal type. In spite of Gish's effervescent personality, this film did not win favor with critics or the public -- audiences of the day found the subject matter too depressing.
