Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
The cadets of Rumania's military academy are charged with the task of delaying the retreat of German forces from their country, at the end of World War II. Ironically, these same boys had enjoyed a good relationship with the Germans in charge of the school during the Occupation. Nonetheless, they proved their bravery and courage on the battlefield. Especially poignant is the story of a boy musician who was singled out for favor by the school's German commandant: he has more to prove than the rest of them.
