One of the first German documentaries on the state of Israel, this standard overview of the relatively new nation is directed by Herbert Victor, who also wrote the informative narration. Aside from the usual landscapes and historical context, the documentary follows Israeli air and ground forces as they close in on a ring of Arab drug smugglers. Perhaps a desire for objectivity kept the focus on the assets of the new nation and not on any current political, economic, or regional issues of contention.
