Synopsis by Jonathan Crow

Vishram Bedekar directs this drama about the South Asian economy during WWII. An employee for the Rangoon Oil Company with dubious morals, Bapuji is raking in the rupees through his ill doings on the black market. His daughter, Vidya (played by Nalini Dhere in the Marathi version and by Lila Desai in the Hindi), however, thinks her dad is on the up and up. When she meets the straight-laced Lalnath, she looks down on him. In fact, he is an executive of Rangoon Oil and apparently one of the corporation's few honest employees. After the bombing on Pearl Harbor, the Japanese army forces the company's workers to flee Rangoon, as Bapuji schemes of another way to make a killing. Inevitably, Vidya falls for Lalnath when she discovers that her pop is a crook.
