Five Japanese soldiers wait for the immanent attack from Soviet forces on the Manchurian border in 1945 in this war drama. The soldiers are asked to surrender, but they choose to fight to the death, and the five all suffer gruesome deaths, illustrating the horrors of war. One victim becomes a crispy critter by virtue of an enemy flame-thrower.
