Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

A Palestinian graduate student in Tel Aviv struggles with a life-altering decision after falling into a same-sex romance with an Israeli lawyer in this topical drama from first-time director Michael Mayer. Nimr (Nicholas Jacob) is a bright young student who longs to escape the West Bank. He's dancing in a Tel Aviv nightclub when he meets Roy (Michael Aloni), a handsome Israeli lawyer. Before long, Nimr and Roy have fallen deeply in love. Meanwhile, Nimr has kept his sexuality a safeguarded secret from his conservative family, which includes his increasingly militant brother Nabil (Jameel Khoury). But Nimr can be himself around Roy, and when he loses his Israeli student visa, his new lover works diligently to fight the deportation process. Later, as Nimr's dreams of continuing his education in America begin to fade, the shocking death of a close friend causes him to reevaluate his future, which may mean saying farewell to the only man he ever truly loved.
