Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Policeman Larry Hayes (Tom Moore) stops an automobile driven by the chauffeur of society girl Frances Hudson (Seena Owen). She is indignant; he is smitten. They run into each other again when Larry is sent to guard the valuable presents at a fancy wedding reception. The spark between the two is noticed by Frances's jealous finance Teddy (Hallam Cooley). Larry continues to woo Frances when he is hired to guard her home while her father is away. Teddy snoops around meanwhile and discovers that a child ("Peaches" Jackson) lives with Larry and his mother (Mollie McConnell), and that the mother is often seen with Larry. Of course, he assumes the baby is Larry's. He tells this to Frances in an attempt to bust up the budding romance. But the truth is that Larry sent the father, a crook, to jail and as a favor to the mother is taking care of the child until he is released. The father, however, gets out and tries to kill Larry at the Hudson's. He is stopped, and Larry tells Frances the whole story -- and also that he has been studying nights to become a lawyer, thus making him an appropriate match for a society girl.
