Synopsis by Ben Schultz
This biopic of Scottish athlete Eric Liddell (Joseph Fiennes) -- whose life story was also told in the Oscar-winning film Chariots of Fire -- depicts his time as a missionary in China from the 1920s to the '40s. His religious faith compelled him to stay in the country during WWII, which led to his internment by the Japanese. Stephen Shin and Michael Parker co-directed this historical drama, which co-stars Shawn Dou, Richard Sanderson, Jesse Kove, and Augusta Xu-Holland.
