Synopsis by Gönül Dönmez-Colin
In April 1998, 42 million Americans watched on live television the coming-out of Ellen DeGeneres. This film is about the place of homosexuals in the 40 years of television history. Focusing on the invisibility, the deterioration, and the stereotyping, the film offers a funny but passionate testimony that it is an impossible marriage between homosexuality and television. Off the Straight and Narrow was shown at the Brussels Gay and Lesbian Film Festival 2000.
