Synopsis by Robert Firsching

Panos Glykofridis directed this amusing Greek farce based on the novel by Nikos Tsiforos and Polyvios Vassiliadis. The film stars Kostas Hadjichristos as Lucky Petris, who returns to Greece with the fortune he made by washing dishes in the United States. He comes back in order to marry a young woman who, according to one of Lucky's friends, makes one of the best traditional bean soups he will ever taste. Lucky gets the apartments mixed up, however, and ends up meeting Christie Lounas (Katy Papanika), a fiery young woman who is in love with Nassos, a failing businessman whose factory is so much in debt that he wants to unload it on Christie's father Spyros (Dionyssis Papayiannopoulos). Lucky gets caught up in everyone's schemes, and Spyros wants him to marry Christie in order to get rid of Nassos, but eventually the befuddled hero realizes that the Lounas family maid (Nitsa Marouda) makes a pretty darn good bean soup, and he has found the girl of his dreams at last. Melpo Zarokosta co-stars with Nikos Tsoukas and Sokratis Korres.
