Popeye and Bluto arrive at the home of Olive Oyl, hoping to escort her to a movie. Olive accepts the invitation--but first, she has to go to the hairdresser. In the meantime, her two suitors are enlisted as babysitters for little Swee'pea (whose actual parentage, here as elsewhere, remains a mystery). As Popeye and Bluto nervously tackle such domestic duties as changing diapers and preparing baby formula, Swee'pea manages to slip out of the house and into another of those perilous situations in which he always seems to find himself.
