Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka

This pro-disarmament movie is about a skin-deep journalist who travels to Houston in the U.S. to do a story on nuclear war and its possibilities and consequences. Although he has not thought very much about the topic, after arriving at the American military base and visiting a special control center that could put an end to world peace with the touch of a button, -- or at least, just a few buttons -- the journalist gets the uneasy feeling that not even the U.S. president stands a very good chance of preventing a nuclear holocaust. Unnerved by the power of the American military and convinced that the West German Ministry of Defense is not much different, the reporter tries to ease himself out of this assignment before he gets any more involved. That attempt does not sit well with his employer, and before he knows it, the journalist has become a security risk.
