Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Not Guilty was an expansion of Justice, a one-act drama made famous by vaudeville headliner Jules Steger. Cyril Scott plays Edward Andrews, who serves 19 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit. Upon his release, Andrews seeks vengeance for being robbed of two decades of his life. But with the help of his now-grown daughter Dora (Catherine Proctor), the sweetheart of a handsome young architect (Charles Hutchison), Andrews learns to forgive and forget. Also essential to Andrews' regeneration is the knowledge that his gray-haired old mother (Ada Bushell) never swerved in her belief of his innocence and worked her fingers to the bone for nearly twenty years to pay for a new trial.
