Synopsis by Nathan Southern
This classical release finds the 2009 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition winner, Nobuyuki Tsujii, performing a live set at the legendary Carnegie Hall in New York City. One of the most remarkable aspects of Tsujii is his blindness - an inspiration to those who must surmount physical handicaps and other obstacles on a daily basis. The set includes pieces by Mussorgsky (Pictures at an Exhibition), Fryderyk Chopin (Prelude in D flat major, Op. 28 No. 15) ,Beethoven (Piano Sonata No. 17 in D minor, Op. 31 No. 2 'The Tempest') and several others.
