Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Zsuzsa Cziraky is Nobody's Daughter in this dour Hungarian drama. Orphaned early on and rejected by the rest of her family, Cziraky is bounced from one foster home to another. To the state, the girl is just another statistic: to her "guardians," she is merely a means of earning extra maintenance money. All that Cziraky has left is her spirit, and even this is in danger of being crushed beyond recognition. Filmmaker Laszlo Ranody uses the personal story in Nobody's Daughter to condemn the red-tape-ridden Hungarian social welfare system.
