Synopsis by Hal Erickson

The British game show No Win No Fee was an elaboration on the earlier Win Beadle's Money, in which the contestants tried to win cash from the pockets of the series' host -- in this case, Paul Ross. At the beginning of each episode, Ross -- aka "Mr. Loss" -- was encircled by 12 contestants, from whom one per round was chosen for a tough question-and-answer session. If the player won, he or she copped the 4,000-pound daily jackpot; if not, the money was claimed by Ross, whose catchphrase was "I'm pleased to say...you're out." Created by Iain Coyle, No Win No Fee premiered in 2001.
