Synopsis
A kindly mine supervisor's gentle treatment of POW laborers during World War II incurs the wrath of his superiors. Despite Japan's losses, the man still adheres to his pacifist principles. Ultimately overwhelmed by events, he is horribly mistreated by the powers-that-be, then ordered to don a uniform and fight for his country.
