A young woman in search of stability makes the mistake of moving in with her estranged father, whose home is marred by alcoholism. Ellen (Katherine Everitt) has next to nothing, which means that she has little to lose by moving in with her long-most father and his new family. But Ellen's father isn't the only alcoholic in the house; her new stepmother is a hopeless drunk, too. As the situation escalates into physical violence, Ellen begins to wonder whether she'll have the strength to keep the family together, or if she's bound to end up desperate and alone.
