This elaborate and ambitious classical concert was mounted at Venice's prestigious Teatro La Fenice to commemorate the New Year at the outset of 2010. The selections of the evening are performed by The Orchestra and Chorus of the Teatro La Fenice, with Sir John Eliot Gardiner conducting and Claudio Marino Moretti serving as chorus master; two vocalists - tenor Francesco Meli and soprano Anna Caterina Antonacci - provide added musical support. Pieces in the repertoire include Antonin Dvorak's Sinfonia no. 7 in re minore op. 70, Gioachino Rossini's Il signor Bruschino: Sinfonia and Gaetano Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore: 'Una furtive lagrima.'
