Synopsis by Nathan Southern
Seiji Ozawa conducts this classical concert from 2002, mounted by the Vienna Philharmonic at the Musikverein. Per that ensemble's perennial tradition, the show at hand commemorates the New Year with a series of compositions by the eminent Johann Strauss family and their musical contemporaries, at once lively and yet nostalgic. Vladimir Malakhov performs as a soloist.
