Synopsis

Profiling U.S. ambassadors Wendy Chamberlin (Pakistan), Howard Baker (Japan), Prudence Bushnell (Guatemala) and Robert Royall (Tanzania). "Ambassador," says writer-narrator Alex Chadwick, "is a title that carries both honor and risk." Bushnell knows about risk: her previous post was Nairobi, where the embassy was bombed by Al Qaeda. Chamberlin had to deal with Sept. 11 issues in Islamabad. And Baker must apologize for a Navy accident that killed nine Japanese students.
