Synopsis by Forrest Spencer

Just two years after World War II a new sport racing industry was formed on the beautiful beaches of Daytona, a race where bulky stock cars with rolling fenders competed on the hard-packed sand. This racing event, founded by Bill France Sr. with only a small number of sponsors, launched what became a multi-million dollar sports industry. This sixty-minute video magazine is hosted by championship race Benny Parsons, who profiles and interviews some of the finest racers like Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty. In the Earnhardt segment you'll meet the man behind the iron mask, and with Petty you understand why people scream, "Long live the king." The video includes some fantastic racing clips from the Daytona track.
