Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter

This documentary chronicles the defeat of Napoleon's fleet by the British in Egypt. The Battle of the Nile forever changed the course of history, when Vice Admiral Horatio Nelson destroyed the French Emperor's navy and ended his aspirations of gaining control over the Nile and wresting India from Britain's control. Nelson became an instant hero to the British and to the world for stopping the tyrant who aspired to world domination. Underwater archeologist Franck Goddio and his team of divers look beneath the surface of Aboukir Bay to find clues to the battle in the sunken remains of Napoleon's warships. Their exciting findings bring the story of the battle to life.
