Synopsis by Mark Deming

Stylish sexploitation auteur Radley Metzger directed this witty sex film about suburban infidelity, under his hardcore pseudonym Henry Paris. Gillian (Darby Lloyd Rains) is an attractive woman who hosts a radio show and enjoys a happy and sexually enthusiastic relationship with her husband, William (Levi Richards). However, Gillian discovers that William is enjoying a bit more excitement than she is when she learns he's been having an affair with one of his co-workers, Phyllis (Mary Stuart). Convinced that what's good for the goose is good for the gander, Gillian decides to start having some extracurricular fun of her own, and embarks on a series of increasingly steamy relationships with the men in her community. Naked Came the Stranger was based on the best-selling novel by Penelope Ashe; however, after the book had hit the best-seller lists, it became known that Penelope Ashe didn't really exist, and that the book was actually written by 24 different reporters for Newsday, each of whom wrote a chapter for what they intended to be a parody of sexy potboilers.
