The grizzly bear that terrorized Helen (Blanche Mehaffey) in chapter two of The Mystery Trooper is chased away by the serial's title character in the opening of chapter three. Mack (Charles King), meanwhile, forces Chief Red Eagle (William Bertram) to translate the map to the hidden Indian mine. Having accomplished his goal, Mack ruthlessly leaves the helpless chief bound and gagged in a booby-trapped shack. While Jack Logan (Robert Frazer) is busy fending off one of the henchmen, a curious Billy (Buzz Barton) contemplates entering the fateful cabin. Original chapter title: " Fighting Fate."
