Sea captain Popeye refuses to allow Olive Oyl on board his ship, because "wimmen is a jinx." Unfortunately, Olive is accidentally locked in a trunk, and as a result finds herself a reluctant stowaway as the ship sets sail on the high seas. At first, the crew members are convinced that Olive is a ghost and that the ship is haunted--but when they find out the truth, they organize a mutiny. Now Popeye is faced with the double dilemma of rescuing Olive and saving the ship from destruction--and that's when his trusty can of spinach is brought into play.
