Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein

Based on a 1914 Peter B. Kyne story, this silent comedy-melodrama starred the rough-hewn Roy Stewart as the son of a wealthy New York broker (Harry Rattenberry). After resuming responsibility for a crime actually committed by his brother Archie (Sidney D'Albrook), a discredited Silas Warner, Jr. (Stewart) is banished to a rough mining camp. Finding himself in a compromising position, Silas is forced to marry Sally Bleeker (Marjorie Daw), but the girl is almost immediately sent to a finishing school. While there, she meets and befriends Louise (Evelyn Nelson), Silas' sister. Sally recognizes her husband from a picture and the two virtual strangers are not only reunited but discover that they have come to love one another. A Motion to Adjourn (the title referred to a fraternity order of miners) was produced by Gower Gulch regular Benjamin F. Wilson.
