Two Latina teens from East L.A. fall into an unlikely romance that forces them both to reevaluate their lives in this gay-themed coming of age drama from director Aurora Guerrerro. Yolanda's friends call her Mosquita. A studious teen, she notices that her tough classmate Mari is struggling, and offers to be her tutor. Meanwhile, the more time the two classmates spend together, the stronger their bond grows. In time they've fallen in love. Now as Yolanda grows distracted in the classroom, Mari begins to loser her focus at work. As outside pressures steer the two young girls in different directions, they must both decide whether their newfound romance is something worth fighting for.
