Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Morsiusseppele (The Bridal Wreath) is a no-frills tale of a rural romance. Farm girl Aino-Maija Tikkanen falls in love with city boy Jussi Jurkka, but the boy's father, a high-ranking diplomat, opposes the romance. The film devotes itself to the boy and girl's efforts to find lasting happiness without being married -- which results in one or two nude scenes that were edited from American prints. Morsiusseppele was directed by Hanna Lemnen, who'd risen to prominence by helming the official filmed record of the 1952 Helsinki Olympics.
