Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
Tommy Ungerer's beloved novel comes to the screen in this animated fantasy for the entire family. The Moon Man is a figure beloved by the children of Earth, but he's lonely, and doesn't realize the important role he plays in helping his young admirers sleep soundly. When a blazing comet blasts by, the Moon jumps on, and rides it down to Earth. Meanwhile, after conquering the entire planet, The President becomes convinced that the comet is the opening shot of an alien attack, and rallies his troops to catch the extraterrestrial invader. Now, with the President in hot pursuit, the Moon Man finally realizes that the children depend on him to get a good night's sleep, and races to return to his post in Earth's orbit before being captured and locked-up far from home.
