This animated feature from Japan follows the adventures of Kongo, who -- after distinguishing himself in battle -- is captured by enemy warriors, who trap him within a huge rock. Five centuries later, Sanzoh the priest dreams of bringing peace and order back to his homeland and has learned of a secret text that could give him remarkable powers. Sanzoh's powers free Kongo from the rock, but now Kongo has to be persuaded to join Sanzoh in his struggle for freedom. Monkey Magic: The Quest Begins is the third volume in the Monkey Magic anime series.
