Synopsis by C. Dwayne Smith

This tape, brought to video by Major League Baseball, documents the 1944 World Series between the St Louis Cardinals and their cross-town rivals the St Louis Browns. All the games took place in Sportsman's Park with the series lasting six games. The winner was, you guessed it St Louis. With World War II raging across Europe and the South Pacific, many star players were overseas and the only notable name was the Cardinals famed Stan 'the man' Musial. However, other players like 28-year-old rookie pitcher Ted Wilks and slugging first baseman George McQuinn step up to the plate to make this a fall classic to remember.
