Part of the British mystery series based on the books by Agatha Christie, Miss Marple: The Murder at the Vicarage was first aired in 1986. Miss Jane Marple (Joan Hickson) investigates the murder of Col. Lucius Protheroe (Robert Lang) in St. Mary Mead. The main suspect is Vicar Leonard Clement (Paul Eddington), who publicly admitted his dislike for the deceased. However, Miss Marple also suspects the widowed Mrs. Anne Protheroe (Polly Adams) and her young lover, Lawrence Redding (James Hazeldine).
