Synopsis by Mark Deming
A pack of stray dogs find themselves living the high life until they learn the hard way money doesn't always make things easier in this animated comedy adventure. JD and Chuffie are a pair of stray dogs who make the acquaintance of Emmo, a parrot who says she might be able to find a home for them. Emmo's master is elderly Miss Lilly, a wealthy woman with a soft spot for animals, and the two dogs are soon sharing her house with Emmo and three other dogs, Bella, Sherman, and Velvet. When Miss Lilly passes on, the dogs are surprised to discover they've named the inheritors of her estate in her will. While the animals are happy to be living on Easy Street, they soon discover it's not as easy as they thought -- especially since two of Miss Lilly's human relatives are eager to get the dogs out of the way so they can get their hands on the cash.
