Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein
A young black detective (A.B. Comathiere) successfully solves a series of robberies with the assistance of the master criminal's jealous wife (Susie Sutton) in this "all-black" crime melodrama produced by the Dunbar Film Corp. The wife gives her husband up when she discovers a picture of a young girl among his possessions. The girl (Mabel Kelley) was briefly attracted to the villain but really loves the detective. The white-owned Dunbar Film Corp. planned to produce a series of African-American melodramas but The Midnight Ace, produced by Swain Micheaux, brother of Oscar Micheaux, proved to be the company's sole release.
