Synopsis by Mark Deming

A handful of women on the margins of New York City's creative scene cross paths in this independent comedy drama from director Adolfo Doring. Lila (Esther Canata) is a documentary filmmaker whose latest project is an attack on the power of the mass media. Lila strikes up a friendship with Anke (Elisabeth Stephan), an aspiring actress who has just come to the United States from Germany and is desperate to succeed. Tia (Rossana Rizzo), is another filmmaker collaborating with Lila who constantly records her feeling on videotape. Tina (Christina Marie) is a model who has become far more famous than she desired to be. Amber (Mariana Coronil) is a stylist working with Tina who is fascinated with photographing vegetables and finds she's happiest when she doesn't slow down. And Tina has developed a very serious admirer in a young Japanese woman (Chikako Tsuruta) whose behavior walks a fine line between fandom and stalking. Metro received its world premiere at the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival.
